Getting Here
By Air: Whitehorse is served by three airlines during the summer months
Air North, Yukon’s Airline, has jet service from Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton. They provide good service and competitive rates.
Air Canada, has jet service from Vancouver; be aware they have limited cargo capacity which could mean delayed baggage.
Condor, has twice weekly service from Frankfurt, Germany.
By Road: one can reach the Yukon from points in Alberta and British Columbia.
The famed Alaska Highway, its Mile 0 in Dawson Creek, BC, is very scenic and most often provides lots of wildlife viewing opportunities. From Edmonton it’s a 24-hour drive. The Milepost travel guide for the Alaska Highway, is a good reference. Go to Related Links for a click through on the guide.
The other road coming into the Yukon from the south is the Cassiar Highway which comes up through central British Columbia. It is very scenic as well. From Vancouver, plan on a 35-hour drive.
One can also get here utilizing the Alaska Marine Highway and BC Ferries . If you come as a walk-on customer, you can arrange motorcoach transportation from Skagway, Alaska to Whitehorse with White Pass and Yukon Route.
